Send-Off Party, May 31, 2002

A little going away party was put together for us by some special friends on May 31. A gay ole time was had by all, it seems, including the thunderstorms that must've been having too much fun to remember that they'd been predicted to pour down on us. Thanks to everybody who came for making the send-off so memorable. Our gratitude and affection go to the party organizers:

Michael, my god how many pages and how many points did that party-organizing memo cover? Take care of our place 'til we get back and it's time to plan another one of these bashes!

Serene, you are THE goddess of event planning, and your fiance Mike is a really good sport for enduring the festivities.

Larry, well you, you are THE queen of events. Just don't expect us to start referring to you as "Your Majesty"....and Eric who knows he could give Larry and Serene a run for their tiaras ....

Brian: Ahem, who was the one who predicted that it would rain and that this would be the "gayest event ever"? With the raved-about DJ, expert bartending -- we know that was tough on you -- and sense for knowing all about the Palladium, you're forgiven. Gina, although not an official member of the organizing committee, you get honorable mention for the way you're clutching on that purse!

Other shots

Okay, did someone blow up a "dirty bomb" on our cake and not tell anyone?

Paul and (some of) the evening's entertainment.

Gary (l) and Todd (r). If you missed Todd (whom Tim has known since the first grade) and his sister Lisa (fresh in D.C. from the wilds of SE Tennessee),then you missed some of the evening's other entertainment.

John and Mike, who was probably the only Zambian-born mortal at the shindig. We're expecting you "home" soon, Mike.

Here we are with the ever-handsome Terry.
